REP MARYSVILLE: The iron threads Student Tee Design Contest
Marysville students—we want to see your school spirit!
Back-to-school season is here, homecoming is right around the corner, and we’re looking for the next great Marysville T-shirt design.
iron threads is inviting all Marysville students from preschool through senior year to create an original T-shirt design that represents what Marysville, school spirit, or their school means to them.
Your design could be about your school, mascot, homecoming, a favorite Marysville tradition, a local landmark, school spirit, or anything else that represents your community.
This is your chance to design a shirt that your whole community could wear!
HOW IT WORKS
1. CREATE YOUR DESIGN 🎨
Create an original T-shirt design that represents Marysville or school spirit.
Your design can be:
Hand-drawn
Drawn or designed digitally on a computer or tablet
Created using whatever creative tools you have available
You do not need to be a professional artist or graphic designer. We’re looking for creativity, originality, and school spirit!
2. SUBMIT YOUR DESIGN 📩
Submit your design by Wednesday, September 9, at 11:59 PM by emailing us at ironthreadsohio@gmail.com or dropping it off at iron threads. Please include your name, your grade level, the school you attend, and the t-shirt size you want if you win.
Your design must fit within a 12" × 12" square.
Hand-drawn designs are absolutely welcome!
If your design is hand-drawn, simply draw it on white paper and submit a clear, well-lit photo or scan of your artwork.
iron threads may recreate the artwork digitally if needed to prepare it for printing.
3. THREE FINALISTS ARE SELECTED 🏆
After submissions close, the iron threads team will select three finalists.
The finalists will be announced on Friday, September 11, and their designs will be displayed for the community to see.
4. THE COMMUNITY VOTES 🗳️
The three finalist designs will be available for public voting:
📍 Uptown Marysville — September 11
📍 FestiFair — September 12
Come see the designs in person and vote for your favorite!
5. THE WINNER IS ANNOUNCED 🎉
The winning design will be announced Sunday, September 13.
The winning student will receive their design printed on a T-shirt FREE OF CHARGE!
6. THE WINNING DESIGN BECOMES A FUNDRAISER ❤️
The winning design won't just live on one T-shirt!
iron threads will make the winning design available for preorder so that friends, family, classmates, and the entire Marysville community can purchase one.
A portion of the proceeds from the winning T-shirt will be donated back to the winning student's school or school-related organization of choice.
For elementary and middle school students, proceeds will go to the PTO of the winning student's school.
If a high school student wins, they can choose a school-related organization or activity to receive the proceeds—whether that's athletic boosters, the theater program, a club, or another school activity that is meaningful to them.

DESIGN GUIDELINES
We want you to have as much creative freedom as possible, but there are a few things to keep in mind so your artwork can be printed beautifully on a T-shirt.
📏 SIZE
Your design must fit within a 12" × 12" square.
🖍️ HAND-DRAWN OR DIGITAL
Either is welcome!
If you draw your design by hand, make sure your photo or scan is clear and easy to see.
👕 MAKE IT T-SHIRT FRIENDLY
Designs that are bold, clear, and easy to see from a distance tend to work best for T-shirt printing.
Try to avoid:
Extremely tiny details
Very thin lines
Very small text
Details that are difficult to distinguish from one another
Solid shapes and clear lines generally print best.
🌈 COLORS
Use as many colors as you want! There are no specific color requirements.
⬜ BACKGROUND
A white background is preferred when submitting your design.
Don't worry about creating a perfect print-ready file. Our team will prepare the winning artwork for printing.
✨ MOST IMPORTANTLY... BE CREATIVE!
We aren't looking for perfect graphic design. We're looking for big ideas, creativity, originality, and Marysville school spirit.
WHO CAN ENTER?
The contest is open to Marysville students from preschool through 12th grade/seniors.
Each student should submit their own original design.
Parents or guardians may assist younger students with the submission process, photographing/scanning artwork, or uploading the design, but the creative work should be the student's own.
CONTEST TIMELINE
Submissions Open: Friday, August 28
Submission Deadline: Wednesday, September 9, at 11:59 PM
Three Finalists Announced: Friday, September 11
Public Voting:
📍 September 11 — Friday Nights Uptown
📍 September 12 — FestiFair
Winner Announced: Sunday, September 13
Winning Tee Preorder: Monday, September 14 - Wednesday, September 23
